Destiny is our library catalog. Click "Catalog" at the top to search for books. Destiny is taught as part of our 3rd grade library curriculum, but students often start trying it out as soon as they can type.
Use the "Narrow your search" box or the "Power" tab to search by type of material, reading level, Fountas and Pinnell level, interest level, or literary award.
Did you know 3rd and 4th graders can log in to Destiny? Your username is your student ID number and your password is the same as your Google password. This lets you see which books you have checked out.
The Prairie Elementary library subscribes to an elementary-level collection of digital books, audiobooks, and magazines through the Wisconsin Schools Digital Library Consortium. Students can use their Google logins to log in to Sora, which is available as a website and as a mobile app, to read books from the collection. Students can have five books checked out at a time.
TumbleBooks includes "over 350 animated, talking picture books! The site also features books in Spanish and French, read-along chapter books, graphic novels, and non-fiction books, plus games and puzzles!" (tumblebooklibrary.com, 2022)

NoveList or NoveList K-8 are great ways to find just the right book for your mood and interests. Put in the type of book you're looking for or a book you enjoyed reading in the past for a ton of similar recommendations.
Award Winning Books Visit the Association for Library Service to Children to find lists of award winners, from the Caldecott and Newbery, to awards you may be less familiar with. Different awards have different requirements, but they are a great place to start finding high quality literature.
