Welcome to the LMTC!
Welcome to the LMTC! It stands for Learning Materials & Technology Center, but normally we just call it the library. With almost 30,000 items in the collection, it's a great place to do research for class or read something fun.
Our library is divided into sections to help students find books that are "just right" for them: E (Everybody picture books), EE (Early Emergent readers), FIC (Fiction chapter books), SP (Spanish language books), PLA (Playaway audio books), non-fiction, and more.
Check out the Reading page for some eBooks and book recommendations or Research to learn about some of our library's online databases. And don't forget to use Destiny, our online library catalog, to search our collections!
Meet your LMTC staff!
Brittany Phelps is Prairie's LMTC director (librarian).
Brittany loves working with students and seeing their excitement as they find a new favorite book or series! Growing up, her favorite books tended to be fantasy, historical fiction, and graphic novels, but there are so many amazing books she has a hard time choosing favorites! She received her masters in information studies at the UW Madison iSchool. In her free time she loves traveling, cooking, language learning, and, of course, reading.
Lydia Miller is Prairie's LMTC assistant.
Lydia graduated from Waunakee Community High School and has an associate’s degree in mass communication. She just moved back to Waunakee after a decade in Nashville, Tennessee. She currently lives in Waunakee with her 2 children, a cat, and a rabbit.
Lydia enjoys gardening, biking, hiking, walking, jogging, swimming, cross-stitching, painting, and reading. A few of her favorite authors are Sandra Dallas, Arnold Lobel, Beverly Cleary, and Stephen King. She's excited to get to know all the children and help them check out books at Prairie!
